Job Description: Silicon Hardware Engineering Internship

This internship offers a chance to contribute to diverse areas of Silicon Hardware Engineering, including roles in:

Silicon Architecture: Designing and defining the overall structure and functionality of silicon chips.
Circuit Design: Creating and implementing the electrical circuits that make up the chip.
General Design: Working on various aspects of the design process, including logic design, layout, and verification.
Layout: Placing and routing the physical components of the chip.
Logic: Designing the digital logic circuits that control the chip’s behavior.
Photonics: Designing and developing optical components and systems for use in silicon chips.
Physical Design: Optimizing the physical layout of the chip for performance, power consumption, and manufacturing.
TFM (Test and Failure Mechanism): Analyzing and testing the chip to identify and address potential failures.
Verification: Ensuring the chip meets its design specifications through simulations and testing.
Product Engineering: Developing and improving the manufacturing processes for silicon chips.
Validation and Debug: Testing and troubleshooting chips to ensure they work correctly.

Ideal candidate skills:

Debugging: Identifying and resolving issues in hardware designs.
Hardware Architecture: Understanding the structure and operation of hardware systems.
Data Analysis: Analyzing data to identify trends and patterns.
Power and Performance Analysis and Optimization: Analyzing and optimizing the power consumption and performance of hardware systems.
Systems Architecture: Understanding the overall architecture of computer systems.
Hardware Design Knowledge: Familiarity with hardware design principles and practices.
Test Engineering: Designing and executing tests to verify hardware functionality.
Hardware Validation and Debug: Validating hardware designs and debugging any issues that arise.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be enrolled/pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related STEM field.
Experience: 3+ months of educational or industry experience.

• This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship.
• This application is for Spring 2025 and Summer 2025 internships.
• Job location will be based out of one of Intel’s US manufacturing or technology development sites (Oregon, California, New Mexico, Arizona).
• This position is not available in the state of Colorado.
