Job Description:

This is a full-time, 6-month internship (January 11th, 2025 – June 7th, 2025) with the Show Control Design Team. The team develops show control and network systems for live shows (parades, stage shows, special events) both on and off Disney property, including Disney Cruise Line.

Responsibilities:

Project Support: Assist designers in developing and executing systems and network architectures for live shows and facility infrastructure. Create cohesive systems for DLE shows, atmosphere, and park-wide control.
Technical Development: Provide technical skills in the concept, design, development, support, and oversight of networking, automation, motor control, and documentation related to show systems.
Software Proficiency: Utilize various software programs, including TAIT Navigator, Visual Studio, SSH, Beckhoff TC, and other development and controls software tools. Assist with design and technical research.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (designers, engineers, safety, production, and facility teams).
Project Management: Prioritize, organize, and solve problems during installation, focus, cueing, and delivery of multiple projects.
Professional Development: Attend and participate in Disney Live Entertainment seminars and meetings.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of network technology and equipment.
• Ability to learn new software applications.
• Familiarity with the entertainment industry and a creative background.
• Proficiency with general computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university (taking at least one class in the semester/quarter prior to the internship), have graduated within 6 months of application, or be participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Must be a junior, senior, or recent graduate pursuing a degree in show control, machine automation, or computer networking, with a focus on live show entertainment.

Additional Requirements:

• At least 18 years of age.
• Unrestricted work authorization.
• Not completed one year of continuous employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Availability to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week).
• Ability to secure housing in Orlando, FL, and have reliable transportation.
