Job Description: Service Technician Trainee Intern

This is an entry-level intern role at a Tesla service center, designed for individuals who are motivated and willing to learn technical skills related to electric vehicles.

What To Expect
As a Service Technician Trainee Intern, you will be actively involved in servicing customer vehicles, performing hands-on tasks at the service center. The role is customer-facing, requiring excellent oral and written communication skills in addition to being a strong team player. You will gain in-depth knowledge of electric vehicles and Tesla’s innovative technologies, aligning with the company’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

• Perform entry-level work related to the inspection, repair, and service of Tesla electric vehicles.
• Operate various hand, power, and shop tools as part of your daily tasks.
• Conduct equipment inspections, adjustments, and certifications.
• Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on new cars to ensure they meet quality standards before customer delivery.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of time, shop supplies, and parts.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of customer vehicles.
• Provide support to Parts and Front of House operations as needed, potentially on a rotational basis.

What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)

• Possess knowledge of methods and techniques used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles.
• Current enrollment in an Automotive program is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required, and you must be capable of reporting to a training location or local service center as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment with a strong “safety first” attitude.
• Have a familiar understanding of the English language.
• Possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in navigating web browsers and using standard applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Expected Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $23.75 – $23.75 per hour, plus benefits. The pay offered may vary based on individualized factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include other elements dependent on the specific position offered.
