GM Certified Technician | Finnegan Chevrolet Buick GMC

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role for a GM Certified Technician at Finnegan Chevrolet Buick GMC, located in Rosenberg, TX. Finnegan Auto Group operates as a dealership specializing in the sale and service of Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC vehicles, with a strong focus on employee appreciation and community engagement. This position is vital for performing precise vehicle repairs and maintenance according to manufacturer specifications, directly ensuring vehicle safety, reliability, and sustained customer satisfaction. The GM Certified Technician contributes significantly to the dealership’s reputation by executing high-quality service and maintaining operational efficiency within the service department.

• Mission: To accurately diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems, ensuring customer vehicles are safe and performing to manufacturer specifications.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Repair Orders: Execute specified repair work efficiently and according to dealership standards.
• Vehicle Diagnostics: Conduct test-drives and test components using specialized diagnostic tools and equipment.
• System Repair: Diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
• Customer Communication: Inform Service Advisors of additional service needs and provide estimated repair times for these services.
• Warranty Service: Perform all warranty repairs strictly adhering to manufacturer specifications and guidelines.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent is a fundamental requirement for this role, complemented by specific GM training.
• Experience: Proven mechanical and troubleshooting capabilities are essential, along with demonstrated ability to proficiently operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Skills: This role requires excellent dexterity, including a steady hand and precise hand-eye coordination. Candidates must possess strong customer service skills, basic computer competencies, and a positive, collaborative attitude with an eagerness for continuous improvement. The ability to learn new technology, repair procedures, and specifications is also crucial. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
• Bonus: Preference will be given to applicants holding current ASE Certification and those with at least 2 years of professional Service Technician experience.
