Valmark Service Center Intern | Valmark Financial Group

The Tone:
This is an internship at Valmark Financial Group, located in Akron, OH. Valmark provides comprehensive support to financial professionals, acting as a resource desk for its network of outside Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and a reliable third-party consulting team assisting advisors with their servicing needs. This role is crucial for supporting senior planners with day-to-day workflows, encompassing initial case implementation, ongoing servicing requirements, and research for various internal projects. You will develop expertise in Valmark’s proprietary processes and contribute significantly to the operational efficiency and client service capabilities of both onsite and nationwide financial professionals.

• Team: Service Center Team, supporting senior planners, outside RIAs, and financial professionals.
• Mission: Enable the Service Center team to serve as a reliable resource and consulting partner for financial professionals’ servicing and workflow needs.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Development: Develop expertise in Valmark’s proprietary Service Center processes to efficiently manage back-office workflows and gain financial planning awareness.
• Case Support: Provide critical support for initial plan implementation, client recommendations, and ongoing case reviews for financial professionals.
• Data Collection: Gather necessary information from diverse sources, including insurance carriers, Valmark clients, and internal systems, to facilitate accurate case development.
• Proposal Generation: Prepare detailed annuity proposals, using your growing understanding of financial instruments, to support effective case design and client solutions.
• Content Management: Update existing and create new advisor-facing and client-facing materials, ensuring all resources are current and valuable for users.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level candidate currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is explicitly required for this internship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and commit to the specified onsite work schedule in Akron, OH: 16–24 hours per week during spring and fall semesters, and 30–40 hours per week during summer months.
• Skills: Demonstrated problem-solving and communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, and a strong curiosity paired with an eagerness to learn.
