The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Motorola Solutions, located remotely across the USA. Motorola Solutions builds and connects technologies to help protect people, property, and places, focusing on mission-critical digital land mobile radio communication systems for government and public safety customers. This role is crucial for designing and implementing innovative communication solutions that make a difference in “Solving for Safer” for first responder and government customers. You will be part of a dynamic cross-functional, client-facing team working on meaningful, impactful, and leading-edge engagements.

• Pay: $125000–$135000 yearly
• Team: Manages systems engineering resources across one or more departments within the Post-Sale Systems Engineering team.
• Mission: Responsible for managing systems engineering resources and activities to deliver world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions for mission-critical communications.
• Tech Stack: Land mobile radio (LMR) systems, LTE, Microwave, Fiber, 911 dispatch consoles, advanced video surveillance, public safety mobile broadband networks

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Manage systems engineering resources and their activities across one or more departments or functional areas.
• Lead: Lead engineering efforts on land mobile radio projects, including the implementation of new technologies and complex projects.
• Oversee: Oversee operational and fiscal activities, including staffing levels, budgets, project labor quoting, and financial goals.
• Develop: Develop and establish operational policies within the managed area and facilitate cross-functional, inter-department collaboration.
• Ensure: Ensure customer satisfaction and quality of engineering deliverables while contributing towards profitability and cost containment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline. This is a Senior Manager-level role focused on managing engineering resources within wireless communications and/or land mobile radio engineering.
• Experience: 7+ years of engineering or relevant work experience in wireless communications and/or land mobile radio engineering. Must have management experience coaching and mentoring direct reports.
• Skills: Expertise in land mobile radio system deployments, deep knowledge of public safety communications technologies, fiscal management for projects and operations, operational policy development, and managing internal/external customer relationships at a senior level.
• Bonus: Ability to obtain background clearance and CIJS certification as required by government customers.
