What You’ll Actually Do
• Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, reliable, and performant microservices and APIs for the core platform.
• Optimization: Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues to ensure the resilience and efficiency of distributed systems.
• Leadership: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and champion best practices in coding, testing, and system design.
• Collaboration: Work with product management and UX design teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Quality Assurance: Lead and participate in code reviews, ensuring high standards of code quality, maintainability, and security.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, with a significant focus on backend systems and distributed architectures.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with hands-on experience in cloud platforms and designing RESTful APIs.
• Skills: Expert proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or C++; strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design; hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes); deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis); proven ability to design RESTful APIs and microservices; solid understanding of distributed system challenges; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ); familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform); previous experience in high-growth companies or contributions to open-source projects.
