Senior Software Engineer, Core Platform

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our innovative and fast-paced engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical components of our core platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex, high-performance software features and systems within our core platform.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code primarily in Python or Go.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and other engineering teams to define requirements, scope projects, and deliver robust solutions.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
• Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and potential system vulnerabilities.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely support for production incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their technical growth and contributing to team skill development.
• Contribute to architectural discussions, technical design documents, and the overall strategic direction of the platform.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on backend systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one modern programming language such as Python or Go.
• Extensive experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API design (RESTful, gRPC).
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services (EC2, S3, Lambda, Kubernetes).
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices (Agile, Scrum).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with an ability to diagnose complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience working with data streaming technologies or real-time analytics.
• Prior experience in a tech lead or senior mentoring capacity.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong public GitHub profile.
