Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Platform

In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining critical components of our scalable, high-performance cloud infrastructure. You will work on challenging problems, contributing to the architecture and implementation of services that empower our customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of robust, scalable, and secure microservices and APIs for our core cloud platform.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to define requirements, create technical specifications, and ensure successful project delivery.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code using best practices, including comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural principles.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, contributing to on-call rotations and ensuring high availability and reliability of services.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the evolution of our architecture, advocating for and implementing new technologies and methodologies to enhance performance, scalability, and developer experience.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on backend systems and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Go, Java, Python, C#, or Node.js.
• Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, Kubernetes, DynamoDB, RDS, Kafka).
• Demonstrated experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design principles.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with message queues and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
• Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Prior experience in a leadership or mentorship role.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
