The Tone:
This is a contract role at Global Technical Talent, located in Dublin, CA, with hybrid onsite flexibility, requiring 30-40% onsite presence. Global Technical Talent is a minority-owned staffing firm and a subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, which supports Fortune 500 organizations across various sectors. This Senior Project Manager role will be embedded within Electric Operations, where the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to customers is paramount, ensuring all aspects of electric distribution and transmission operations are expertly managed. This position involves direct impact on critical infrastructure and utility services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develops and defines project scope and objectives, then establishes and leads project teams with agreed-upon roles and responsibilities.
• Obtains commitment on detailed work plans including schedule, cost, resource, contingency, and communication plans, ensuring management approval as needed.
• Manages project costs, scope, and schedule by tracking and analyzing project data, maintaining project documentation, and updating cash flow and financial forecasts.
• Assesses project risks, formulates mitigative contingency plans, and adjusts project scope and schedule with sponsor approval to accommodate change.
• Oversees and administrates low risk EPC contracts and represents the organization to government agencies as required for assigned projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or its equivalent in education and experience, functioning as a career or journey level project manager within Electric Operations or a similar utility infrastructure domain.
• Experience: 4 years of external experience in project management, project controls, engineering, and/or construction. Prior experience as a construction manager is a plus.
• Skills: Strong analytical background, SAP Financials and Work Management modules knowledge, Microsoft Excel knowledge, construction/utility knowledge and/or project management background in construction field, organizational skills.
• Bonus: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is desired. Knowledge and experience with electric substations, gas and electric distribution and transmission projects, and fluency in Project Management tools and current company tools like Microsoft Project Scheduling Software are beneficial.
