Senior Analyst, Equity Research – Software | Wedbush

The Tone:
This is a senior-level role at Wedbush, a leading national securities firm and investment bank. Wedbush provides innovative financial solutions through its Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Futures, and Advanced Clearing & Prime Services divisions, with an award-winning Equity Research team recognized for in-depth, differentiated coverage. This position is critical for leading and directing the firm’s Software sector research, shaping the research agenda, and building key relationships. The successful candidate will drive investment decisions by delivering impactful and timely research products.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Team: Lead and develop a Software research team positioned as go-to industry authorities.
• Define Strategy: Define your coverage universe and research strategy with meaningful autonomy.
• Publish Research: Publish impactful, timely research that influences institutional investment decisions.
• Develop Models: Develop sophisticated financial models that reflect true analytical depth and expertise.
• Host Events: Design and host proprietary client events, conferences, and expert network sessions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, with deep and demonstrable expertise in the Software industry or a desire to transition into research as an industry veteran.
• Experience: Substantial sell-side or buy-side Equity Research background with proven analytical capabilities and a track record of independent, differentiated research that has driven investment decisions.
• Skills: Expert-level financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills; exceptional written and verbal communication abilities; and FINRA Series 7, 86, and 87 licenses required (or willingness to obtain within 120 days).
• Bonus: An advanced degree, MBA, or CFA strongly preferred; an established network of industry contacts, management relationships, and institutional clients; and an entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to analytical rigor.
