The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Wintrust, based within their Wealth Services team. Wintrust provides community and commercial banking, specialty finance, and wealth management services, delivering sophisticated solutions while maintaining relationship-focused, personalized service. This senior-level role is crucial for cultivating new client relationships and strengthening existing ones by providing tailored banking and lending solutions to high-net-worth individuals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Portfolio Management: Maintain and expand the existing client portfolio by assessing and fulfilling all banking and customized lending needs of high-net-worth clients, aiming for profitable growth.
• Relationship Development: Proactively explore and cultivate new client relationships through creative credit and non-credit solutions, effectively leveraging internal business partners.
• Loan Structuring & Sales: Negotiate appropriate loan structures, actively cross-sell banking products, and maintain current knowledge of market lending products and relevant industry trends.
• Credit Underwriting & Risk Mitigation: Ensure consistent deal structuring that aligns client needs with appropriate risk mitigation, conducting detailed analysis and credit underwriting. This includes presenting at Loan Committee and overseeing the deal process from underwriting to closing.
• Documentation & Team Collaboration: Maintain accurate and properly documented files, manage loan renewals and collection efforts for past dues and defaulted loans, and collaborate with peers to mentor junior team members for superior client service.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior-level banker with a college degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or Economics preferred. Requires deep credit expertise and a working knowledge of investment portfolios and trust solutions.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years developing and managing relationships with high-net-worth clients. Hands-on experience applying deep credit expertise, plus a working knowledge of investment portfolios and trust solutions. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, effectively introducing appropriate partners and the full suite of investment, trust, and banking solutions to high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions.
• Skills: Ability to apply credit expertise, identify risk, and complete all necessary analysis and documentation for credit actions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Bonus: Formal credit training is a plus.
