Sales and Commercial FP&A Controller | British Group plc

The TL;DR

• Location: Hybrid – Budapest, Hungary

• Team: Part of the S&C Leadership Team within BT International, managing a c. £2bn revenue business.
• Mission: Owns all financial, budgetary, and financial control processes and policies for the vertical and geographies within the S&C business unit, ensuring strategic delivery and compliance across 215 legal entities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Oversight: Define and execute the FP&A strategy for specific verticals and geographies within Global, ensuring consistency and setting the financial strategic direction.
• Financial Management: Own all financial, budgetary, and financial control processes and policies for the S&C business unit, encompassing forecasting, reporting, planning, budget setting, P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow, tax, VAT, currency, and FX management.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to the Group financial control framework, driving compliance, standardization, and consistency of Finance practices across regions and verticals while mitigating risk.
• Performance Insight: Oversee and review forecast and budget details, providing financial insight and guidance to support effective business strategy development, decision-making, and performance management.
• Capital & Fiduciary Accountability: Manage vertical and geography Capex, including prioritisation processes, and hold legal/fiduciary accountability for all accounting, control, and governance matters in the region.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Career level of Senior Manager/Controller with core domain knowledge in financial planning & analysis, accounting principles, and financial control within a commercial and international context.
• Experience: Proven experience working in a complex, matrix, commercial, and international organization; setting and executing financial strategy; delivering transformation projects; and financial, management, and labour resource reporting & planning.
• Skills: Expertise in accounting principles, finance data, processes and systems, financial & data analysis and insight, management reporting, financial controls, compliance and risk, forecasting, planning and budgeting, and multi-currency / FX knowledge.
