Senior Analyst / Junior Associate – MedTech Investment Banking | Prospect Rock Partners
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Prospect Rock Partners, located in either Boston or San Francisco. Our client seeks a Senior Analyst / Junior Associate to join its leading MedTech Investment Banking team. This role contributes to strategic M&A, capital raising, and advisory assignments for innovative medical device, diagnostics, life science tools, and healthcare technology companies. Team members gain significant client exposure and responsibility, working alongside senior bankers on complex transactions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain detailed financial models, including operating models, valuation analyses (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and LBO analyses), merger models, and accretion/dilution analyses to support transaction assessments.
• Client Document Creation: Prepare comprehensive client presentation materials, pitch books, confidential information memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, board materials, and other transaction marketing documents.
• Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth industry and company research across the MedTech ecosystem, covering areas such as medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences tools, digital health, and broader healthcare technology.
• Transaction Execution Support: Actively support the execution of sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, equity offerings, debt financings, and strategic advisory engagements from initiation to close.
• Due Diligence and Coordination: Perform thorough financial and operational due diligence, coordinate various diligence requests, and assist with data room management throughout the deal process, working with clients and other participants.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Biology, or a related field, paired with a strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting, valuation methodologies, and financial statement analysis.
• Experience: 2–4 years of prior investment banking experience, with a preference for exposure within the Healthcare, MedTech, Life Sciences, or Technology sectors, indicating readiness for a Senior Analyst or Junior Associate role.
• Skills: Demonstrated advanced financial modeling and Excel proficiency, exceptional PowerPoint and presentation development capabilities, strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
• Bonus: A CPA, CFA, or advanced degree is considered a plus. Additionally, candidates with specific experience advising companies in areas like Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Life Science Tools, Healthcare Technology, Digital Health, Surgical Technologies, Orthopedics, Cardiovascular Devices, Neuromodulation, Robotics, Laboratory Equipment, or Medical Consumables are preferred.
