• Team: Subpoena Compliance Team (SCT) within the Criminal Response Team on the Verizon Security Assistance Team (VSAT), reporting into Corporate Security.
• Mission: To safeguard customer information and business records by accurately processing legal demands, verifying their validity, and ensuring strict adherence to company policies and legal requirements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Demand Management: Respond to requests and legal demands for assistance from law enforcement and attorneys, verifying validity and ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Data Retrieval and Analysis: Retrieve company records and analyze specific datasets pursuant to legal documents, confirming that the legal document permits the release of the requested records.
• Case Documentation: Document and manage all legal demands end-to-end, including validating, logging, and responding to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and company procedures.
• Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with appropriate departments and managers, specifically corporate security, legal, and human resources for internal investigations, and guide other departments on record release.
• Customer Interaction: Handle incoming calls, assist customers, respond to inquiries from law enforcement personnel, and review, investigate, and resolve inquiries from our customers.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment at Montclair State University and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, open to all majors, with an expected completion date between May 2026 and June 2026.
• Experience: Proficiency in extracting specific datasets from databases using tools such as Microsoft Office Suite. No specific years of experience are explicitly required.
• Skills: Ability to exercise sound judgment when prioritizing tasks with varying degrees of urgency and deadlines, willingness to work on-site in Basking Ridge, NJ, and authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
• Bonus: Paralegal certification, strong attention to detail, ability to interpret statutes, regulations, or case law, experience handling sensitive and confidential information, experience maintaining organized digital filing systems or databases with strict version control, customer service or technical support experience, self-starter with the ability to make independent decisions, and strong interpersonal and organizational/prioritization skills.
