Security Officer (PSO) | BTI Security

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at BTI Security, offering 10 openings available across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including weekends. BTI Security is actively seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join their team as Security Officers (PSO). In this critical position, you will play an integral role in maintaining a safe and secure environment, directly contributing to the well-being of premises, employees, and visitors.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Patrolling: Consistently patrol and monitor both the exterior and community areas on premises, identifying and addressing potential security concerns.
• Access Control: Implement rigorous access control procedures at all entrances and exits, carefully managing the arrival and departure of employees and visitors.
• Surveillance Monitoring: Actively monitor surveillance cameras to detect any disruptions, suspicious activities, or unlawful occurrences across the property.
• Reporting and Documentation: Compile and submit detailed reports on daily security activities, observations, and any incidents that may arise during your shift.
• Emergency Response: Respond effectively to emergency situations, leveraging excellent listening and service skills for response and evacuation procedures, including providing CPR or first aid when needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be at least 21 years of age and a United States citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident who is currently a member of, or possesses a verifiable honorable discharge from, any component of the United States Armed Forces. Applicants must also possess a Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration. A minimum of a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) from an accredited institution is required. Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate strong relevant knowledge of the security industry.
• Experience: Verifiable documentation of one of the following: a minimum of two years of armed security experience; or one year of law enforcement experience in a full-duty status with a full-service police department in a municipality, state, or federal law enforcement department within the US; or a minimum of two years as a member of any US Armed Forces with an honorable discharge.
• Skills: Proficiently use and operate security equipment such as magnetometers and X-ray machines. Capable of utilizing provided communication devices, specifically two-way radios, in a clear and concise manner. Fluent in speaking, reading, and comprehending English, with the ability to compose detailed written reports in English. Must be trainable and able to display proficiency in firearms (pistol), intermediate weapons (OC spray and expandable baton), First Aid, CPR, and AED. Additionally, strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer service-driven mindset are required, along with the ability to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers.
