The Tone:
This is an entry-level, part-time or full-time role at Advance Auto Parts, located in Palm Coast, FL. As a leading provider in the automotive aftermarket, Advance Auto Parts supports individuals who prefer to maintain and repair their vehicles themselves. This Salesperson position is vital for empowering DIY customers, ensuring they receive expert assistance and the right parts to successfully complete their projects. You will play a direct role in achieving store sales targets and service excellence by providing a supportive and knowledgeable experience to every customer, both in-person and over the phone.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales and Service Excellence: Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customers during store visits and phone calls, achieving personal and contributing to store sales goals while delivering essential DIY services like battery installations, testing, and wiper installs.
• Inventory Management: Execute comprehensive inventory processes, including efficient truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and meticulous back stock management, ensuring accurate stock levels.
• Store Standards: Maintain high store product and operational standards, contributing to an organized, clean, and efficient retail environment.
• Customer Support & Sourcing: Source parts efficiently from internal systems (stores, hubs, PDQ) and external suppliers, ensuring customers receive the correct components promptly.
• Operational Support: Assist with general stocking, store cleanliness, and safely deliver parts to customers as required, utilizing the delivery board system and basic navigation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An entry-level foundation with a good understanding of basic automotive systems and part knowledge. Requires an in-depth understanding of store inventory and maintenance processes, including the ability to source parts from various internal and external suppliers like stores, hubs, and PDQ.
• Experience: 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, consistently providing superior customer experiences.
• Skills: Proven ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management in English (both spoken and written). Demonstrated accuracy in basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals). Proficient in operating inventory systems, store equipment, POS, and parts lookup systems, along with expertise in using testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service. Possesses basic driving and navigation ability for parts delivery and a solid understanding of safety knowledge and practices.
• Bonus: Fleet Safety Certification is preferred, and the ability to speak Spanish is a valuable asset. The role also requires availability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends.
