About the Role
As an Entry-Level Salesperson, you will be a vital part of our team, supporting the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) business and contributing significantly to our sales and service objectives. This position requires a solid understanding of our store systems, basic automotive system knowledge, and fundamental part identification skills. You will gain the ability to efficiently source parts from various channels including stores, hubs, PDQ (Product Display Quantities), and external suppliers, alongside developing in-depth knowledge of our store’s inventory and maintenance processes.
This role offers flexibility, available as either part-time or full-time. While not mandatory, Fleet Safety Certification is preferred to further enhance our commitment to safety and efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide an excellent and engaging selling experience for DIY customers during both in-store visits and phone inquiries.
- Actively work towards achieving personal sales goals and contribute to the store’s overall sales objectives.
- Offer essential DIY services directly to customers, including battery installation, testing, and wiper blade installations.
- Maintain the highest standards for store product presentation and operational excellence.
- Diligently execute all inventory processes, which include truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and efficient management of back stock.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the store, encompassing floors, bathrooms, product facing, dusting, and parking lot maintenance.
- Assist with general stocking tasks, including the efficient stocking of incoming truck deliveries and managing back stock.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed, ensuring timely and accurate service.

- Basic driving and navigation ability for efficient deliveries.
- Competence in using the delivery board system for logistical coordination.
- Friendly and effective communication skills to build rapport with customers and colleagues.
- The ability to quickly locate and accurately stock parts.
- Strong safety knowledge and practical application of safety skills.
- Proficiency in operating inventory systems and various store equipment.
- Foundational knowledge of parts and automotive systems.
- Skill in operating Point of Sale (POS) and parts lookup systems.
- Expertise in utilizing testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service tasks.
Qualifications
Essential Job Skills Necessary For Success As a Salesperson:
- Language & Communication: Ability to speak and write English effectively (Spanish proficiency is a significant advantage); capable of building strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Reading & Interpretation: Skill in reading and interpreting various documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Ability to use basic math accurately, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, utilizing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Availability: Flexibility to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed to meet business demands.
Prior Experience that Sets a Salesperson up for Success:
- 2-3 years of successful sales experience, preferably in a diverse retail environment, demonstrating a proven track record of providing superior customer experiences.
