Sales Academy Trainee – New York City | MetLife

This is a full-time sales training program at MetLife, located in New York City. What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Participation: Complete the 9-month Sales Academy Program, including trainings led by subject matter experts.
• Sales Support: Support the sales office by meeting with brokers or customers, making cold calls, conducting enrollment meetings, and assisting account executives.
• Skill Development: Build sales competencies such as communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship building skills.
• Product Knowledge: Develop an understanding of MetLife’s Group Benefits products and services, including Disability, Dental, and Life.
• AI Utilization: Use approved AI tools to support routine tasks like drafting and summarizing information to improve day-to-day efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience; knowledge of MetLife organization, industry information, brokers, customers, and competitive landscape.
• Experience: 0-5 years of related work experience; willingness to relocate prior to and upon completion of the program; ability to travel and drive to meetings.
• Skills: Interpersonal, verbal and written communication, presentation, sound business judgment, computer, analytical, relationship building, and organizational skills; ability to lead and influence; ability to obtain Life, Accident and Health, and Property & Casualty licenses; working knowledge of AI capabilities with ability to evaluate and validate outputs with guidance.
• Bonus: 2-5 years of sales experience.
