Sales Internship | Southwestern Advantage

The Tone:
This is a sales internship at Southwestern Advantage, the oldest entrepreneurial program for college students. The company builds educational resources and empowers students to sell them directly to families through in-home consultations. This role matters as it provides an intensive, 12-14 week summer program designed to equip participants with comprehensive, hands-on experience in critical business areas like sales, marketing, public relations, and leadership. Interns gain practical skills that are applicable across various industries and career paths, making a significant impact on their future trajectory.

• Mission: This person is responsible for facilitating direct sales of educational resources and managing all related business operations within an assigned territory.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Product Demonstrations: Conduct product demonstrations using a consultative sales approach to address specific family needs.
• Relationship Building: Build lasting connections and strong rapport with families from diverse socio-economic backgrounds through direct in-home visits.
• Sales & Marketing: Proactively sell and market educational resources to families in designated territories.
• Business Operations: Manage all aspects of business operations, including ordering products, inventory tracking, sales recording, basic accounting tasks, scheduling appointments, and product delivery.

• Background: High school diploma or equivalent, targeting early career individuals.
• Experience: No prior experience is required; a willingness to embrace new challenges and learn quickly is essential.
• Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; self-motivated, driven, and goal-oriented; enthusiasm for sales, marketing, and personal development.
• Bonus: Availability to work full-time during the summer period (12-14 weeks).
