Job Description: Sales Internship
This year-round internship program provides students with the opportunity to apply classroom learning to real-world challenges. The program balances networking, executive speaker sessions, community involvement, substantial projects, and enjoyable social aspects.
The intern will collaborate with experienced sales representatives to close sales on assigned products and may generate leads. This role is designed for those seeking a sales career.
Responsibilities:
• Share sales activities with experienced Sales Representatives as needed.
• Inform customers about company promotions and upgrades; potentially persuade customers to purchase extended products, services, and supplies.
• Assist with pipeline and forecast responsibilities, following sales center business processes.
• Execute opportunity and lead management.
• Cultivate professional working relationships with clients.
• Align account strategy and sales approaches to maximize client value.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to protect or expand HP’s installed base.
• Collaborate with field sales and other teams for seamless account coverage.
• Identify and utilize resources from pre-sales and product/service specialists for complex deals.
• (As dictated by the sales model) Establish partner contacts to share account information and pursue joint opportunities increasing revenue.
• Develop and close new opportunities resulting in significant incremental orders, revenue, and margins for HP, encompassing the entire HP product and service portfolio.
Knowledge and Skills:
Basic understanding of the HP portfolio, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and sales aptitude are required.
Education and Experience:
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a four-year college program and plan to return to school after the internship. They must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring future sponsorship.
