Sales Intern | Marsh McLennan Agency

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Marsh McLennan Agency. Marsh & McLennan Insurance Agency LLC (MMA) is the 9th largest insurance broker in the United States, serving the risk prevention and insurance needs of middle market companies. This role is designed to prepare individuals to progress into a sales position upon graduation, building essential skills and knowledge within the insurance industry. Performance is closely monitored to identify opportunities for advancement.

• Mission: This intern will develop foundational sales skills and industry knowledge to identify and engage potential clients, and prepare for future sales roles within the insurance industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Attend training sessions to learn about the different departments within MMA and the broader insurance industry.
• Sales Support: Assist with the research and development of sales presentations and prepare for client meetings.
• Administrative Tasks: Perform day-to-day administrative duties as assigned within the department.
• Client Engagement: Job shadow in meetings and during client visits to observe sales processes and interactions.
• Prospecting: Research potential sales prospects and conduct cold calls to determine their interest level in discussing brokerage services.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student aiming to progress into a sales position upon graduation, with an interest in the insurance industry.
• Experience: No specific prior experience required; this is a training position focused on developing familiarity with department functions and the industry.
• Skills: Research, cold calling, presentation preparation, and general administrative support.
