Position Overview
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) Intern program is designed as the foundational chapter of a rewarding, impactful, and limitless sales career at Paylocity. As an SDR intern, you will gain comprehensive knowledge of the SDR program, compensation plans, and diverse sales career path opportunities within the company.
Key aspects of the internship include:
- Establishing and meeting daily call goals and weekly appointment setting goals.
- Receiving dedicated 1-on-1 mentorship from a manager.
- Engaging in professional development sessions with business partners.
- Acquiring valuable real-life sales skills.
- Your time will be dedicated to setting appointments, shadowing experienced professionals, continuous learning, and project work.
- Participation in team building activities and community engagement initiatives.
- Gaining direct access to our Sales Executives to help shape your future career path at Paylocity.
Depending on individual performance, this internship holds the potential to lead to a full-time Sales Development Representative position.
Responsibilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, learn rapidly, and adapt effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A self-motivated individual eager to learn, ask questions, and collaborate with others to understand our Sales program and processes.
- Contact potential clients to demonstrate how Paylocity’s industry-leading technology can modernize and improve their workplace.
- Participate in individual and team competitions to achieve and exceed goals.
- Work effectively in a collaborative environment, with a willingness to share ideas and insights.
- Passionate and driven to exceed goals; possess a competitive spirit while also demonstrating strong teamwork abilities.
- Handle objections effectively and utilize sales techniques to align our solutions with an organization’s specific needs.
- Gather key information and maintain accurate records within the customer relationship management (CRM) database.
Requirements
Education
Currently enrolled in a college degree program with anticipated graduation in December of 2026 or Spring of 2027.

Compensation & Benefits
This role can be performed from any Paylocity office in the US. The pay range for this position is $20.44/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
