About the Sales Development Team

We are seeking a curious and motivated Sales Development Intern to join our dynamic team this summer. In this role, you’ll be on the front lines of Medidata’s growth engine, gaining invaluable experience in:

  • Identifying business opportunities
  • Building a strong sales pipeline
  • Crafting persuasive messaging to drive business forward

Key Responsibilities

As a Sales Development Intern, you will play a crucial role in our sales efforts by:

  • Conducting thorough research on prospective companies and identifying key decision-makers using advanced tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator and ZoomInfo.
  • Assisting in cold outreach initiatives, including developing email sequences, LinkedIn outreach strategies, and script points, to engage with Clinical Affairs leaders and C-level executives to uncover their challenges and effectively position Medidata solutions.
  • Supporting efforts to drive industry event attendance and meticulously performing follow-up activities post-event.
  • Maintaining accurate and actionable sales activity within Salesforce, ensuring high-quality lead information.
  • Performing competitive analysis within our industry to identify market advantages and strategies to win more business.
  • Joining live discovery calls and product demonstrations led by Account Executives to observe the end-to-end process of converting a lead into a customer.

Qualifications We’re Looking For

We are seeking candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited university (juniors and seniors preferred).
  • Ability to conduct thorough research to identify emerging trends, analyze competitor landscapes, and pinpoint potential untapped markets.
  • Advanced skills in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office (specifically Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for presentations).
  • A keen interest in leveraging AI to enhance data and analytics capabilities for identifying target prospects and assisting in effective outreach strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing time efficiently to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in SaaS (Software as a Service) and/or Life Sciences sales.

Compensation

The base hourly pay for this position in New York, NY, is $25 an hour. Compensation for roles in locations other than New York, NY, may differ based on local market data. The total expected compensation range for this role, which includes the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus, is between $25 and $28.
