Sales Associate
As a Sales Associate, you will be the face of our company, representing our brand and image. You will play a crucial role in building our reputation as a company that genuinely values its customers and their opinions. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers, helping them recognize the need for our products and services. You must be capable of quickly learning about our offerings and articulating our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner. Duties And Responsibilities
CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Proactively engage and make a genuine connection with customers.
- Skillfully ask questions and actively listen to understand customer’s needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise, inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and the STAR card.
- Provide premier customer service, ensuring a positive experience.
- Cooperate and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
ORGANIZATION
- Maintain an impeccable store appearance, ensuring a clean and inviting environment.
SALES
- Cross-sell products effectively and possess thorough knowledge of the store layout.
- Make personalized suggestions to customers on the latest trends and current promotions based on their individual needs.
- Successfully upsell products to maximize sales opportunities.
- Continuously learn product features, keep up with the latest trends, and leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide customers with detailed product knowledge and specifications.
- Operate a Point-of-Sales (POS) system, processing various transactions including cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, and debit cards.
- Handle cash accurately, including counting money and returning correct change to customers.
- Complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation tasks accurately and efficiently.
INVENTORY
- Act as the keeper of merchandise, ensuring all inventory processes are completed thoroughly.
- Verify merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- May participate in periodic inventories.
DEPENDABILITY
- Adhere strictly to the assigned work schedule.
- Ensure accurate and complete follow-through on all work assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE
- Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
EXPERIENCE
- Retail experience, preferred but not required.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management.
- Ability to communicate on the telephone with proper etiquette.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to multi-task effectively while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business.
- Ability to work seamlessly as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
- May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
- Work is typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending upon location.
OTHER SKILLS
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a strong desire to provide outstanding service.
WORK HOURS
- Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
No Experience Required. High School Graduate Or Equivalent Preferred.
