What You’ll Actually Do
• Product Introduction and Placement: Introduce and successfully place new food products with key customers, executing business initiatives to drive market penetration.
• Sales Growth and Achievement: Drive sales volume and achieve budgeted sales projections for consumer goods across assigned accounts, ensuring continued business growth.
• Customer Relationship Management: Establish and maintain robust customer relationships through consistent daily communication regarding pricing, product availability, and order management.
• Product and Market Expertise: Maintain current knowledge of Smithfield’s product management, marketing, and R&D efforts to increase sales and satisfy evolving customer demands for new items.
• Problem Resolution and Support: Ensure prompt and fair resolution of customer complaints and issues, coordinating effectively with corporate headquarters and various internal teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must possess knowledge of the dynamics of the food business industry or retail channels.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant experience is essential, specifically including customer-focused and fact-based selling techniques. This experience should involve utilizing industry data such as IRI, Nielsen, and Perishable Group data.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, coupled with high levels of written and verbal communication, organizational planning, and adaptability. The role requires an approachable and team-oriented individual capable of building strong working relationships and thriving in a demanding, changing environment. This position involves travel up to 80% of the time and requires a valid driver’s license.
