Job Description: Safety Intern

This is a dynamic internship and co-op opportunity designed for students who are passionate about building a future in construction safety. The core aim of the role is to contribute to creating safe, efficient, and high-performing job sites.

As a Safety Intern, you will be deeply involved in real heavy civil construction projects located along the East Coast. You will work side-by-side with experienced safety professionals and project leaders, providing a hands-on learning experience.

Key Responsibilities (“What You’ll Do”):

Collaboration: Work closely with safety specialists to actively promote and foster a strong culture of safety on construction sites.
Training Assistance: Provide support in training employees on essential safety techniques and established protocols.
Practical Experience: Gain valuable hands-on experience in both the dynamic field (on-site) settings and the structured project office environments.
Problem Solving: Directly contribute to real-world solutions aimed at enhancing worker protection and improving overall operational efficiency.

Who They Are Looking For (“Who We’re Looking For”):

Academic Standing: Students who have successfully completed their sophomore or junior year of study in an Occupational Safety and Health, Construction, or Engineering program.
Skills & Attributes: Individuals who are strong communicators and possess a genuine passion for learning coupled with a forward-thinking mindset.
Experience (Preferred): Prior construction or safety internship experience is preferred, indicating a foundational understanding or exposure to the field.
Certifications (Plus): Having relevant certifications such as OSHA 10-Hour, First Aid, and CPR will be considered a significant advantage.
Language Skills (Bonus): Spanish bilingual skills are a distinct bonus, highlighting the potential need for communication across diverse workforces.
