Job Description: Rotational Summer Internship (Audit & Tax)

This is a dynamic Rotational Summer Internship specifically designed for students majoring in accounting to build a foundational understanding and practical experience in both Audit and Tax. Interns will work closely with professionals at all levels within the firm, contributing to business solutions for Silicon Valley clients.

Key Responsibilities and Impact:

Audit Engagement Work: Gain practical experience by working on audit engagements and developing a strong understanding of audit processes.
Tax Return Preparation: Prepare various types of income tax returns, including individual, fiduciary, partnership, not-for-profit, and corporate returns.
Meeting Participation: Attend department meetings and client engagement planning sessions, providing insight into professional decision-making.
Consulting & Compliance Assistance: Assist with business risk consulting and compliance projects.
Transaction Processing: Process business transactions into accounting records and ensure their appropriate reflection in financial statements.
Software Proficiency: Learn and utilize standardized office and accounting-related software.

Work Environment and Social Aspects:

Interns will be based out of either the San Francisco or San Jose office. Some mobility throughout the Bay Area is required for training sessions and various offsite activities. Beyond core departmental work, the internship program includes a variety of social events designed for interns to connect with fellow interns and co-workers in a casual setting, with specific social events varying based on the home office.

Qualifications:

Academic Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s program in business with an emphasis in accounting or taxation.
Accounting Coursework:
• At least one accounting course completed to be considered for an interview.
• On track to complete a minimum of three accounting courses prior to the internship program.
GPA: A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required, with “B” grades or above in accounting courses preferred, and a higher major GPA is also preferred.
Graduation Timeline: Final graduation date with CPA licensure eligibility must be between December 2026 and August 2027.
CPA Motivation: Must be motivated to obtain the CPA license and have a detailed plan to complete the educational requirements for California CPA licensure.
Work Authorization: Internship applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for sponsorship, and the firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

Salary:

The salary range for the 2026 Internship is $39 – $43 per hour.
