The Tone:
This is a full-time rotational management program at Gap Inc., located in San Francisco and New York City. Gap Inc. is building a high-performing house of iconic American brands, including Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, and Athleta, that aim to shape culture. This role is crucial for developing the next generation of innovators who will redefine the retail experience, providing an immersive journey to understand how global brands thrive and drive business outcomes. Participants will gain cross-functional experience, build AI literacy, and develop leadership capabilities to excel in the evolving retail landscape.

• Team: Rotational program across Product, Merchandising, Planning, Inventory, Pricing functions
• Mission: To redefine the retail experience by understanding how product, customer insights, inventory, and data come together to drive the business.
What You’ll Actually Do
• AI Fluency & Judgment: Utilize AI and data to forecast demand and sharpen business decisions, applying sound judgment to ensure accuracy and standards are met.
• Analytical Thinking: Dig into data and retail math, model scenarios, pressure-test assumptions, and develop bold, actionable recommendations from complex problems.
• Commercial Instinct: Notice emerging trends, understand their underlying causes, and connect them to potential business implications and opportunities.
• Turn Insight into Action: Distill complex information into clear, decision-ready recommendations and effectively present them for implementation.
• Product & Customer Obsession: Place the customer at the center by anticipating their desires and shaping products and experiences that combine human instinct with data-driven insights.
• Collaboration & Influence: Build trust and accountability across diverse teams, earning influence through partnership to drive aligned decisions and meaningful business outcomes.
• Learning Agility: Navigate ambiguous situations with adaptability, quickly learn new types of work, pivot when plans change, and cultivate responsible leadership.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional completing a bachelor’s degree by June 2027, with a passion for fashion, retail, and shaping future trends.
• Experience: No specific years required; retail experience is a plus. Candidates must be curious about global brands, passionate about customers, and energized by innovation.
• Skills:
1. AI fluency and data application for decision-making with critical judgment.
2. Strong analytical thinking, including proficiency in retail math and scenario modeling.
3. Developed commercial instinct to identify and interpret market trends.
4. Ability to translate insights into clear, actionable business recommendations.

• Bonus: Prior retail experience is a plus. Must be willing to relocate to San Francisco or New York City, with most roles based in San Francisco.
