The Tone:
This is a Summer 2026 internship at TikTok, a global short-form mobile video platform aiming to inspire creativity and bring joy. The Risk Governance Operations team plays a crucial role in maintaining platform integrity by proactively managing risks associated with ad content and user behavior. This position helps ensure TikTok remains a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for its users by developing and implementing risk control strategies and governance frameworks.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy Design & Execution: Design and execute comprehensive risk control strategies, drawing on ad content, user behavior, historical data, expert insights, and regulatory trends.
• Governance Framework Development: Develop and operationalize intelligent risk governance frameworks that strategically balance risk mitigation with monetization goals and user experience objectives.
• Cross-Functional Project Leadership: Lead high-impact, cross-functional projects by developing prioritization frameworks and driving alignment on strategy, execution, and success metrics with various teams including product, operations, policy, data science, engineering, and regional teams.
• Data-Driven Insights & Evaluation: Translate complex datasets into actionable risk insights using tools like SQL, Hive, or Spark, and collaborate with data science and engineering to evaluate the effectiveness of risk features and governance mechanisms.
• Operational Optimization & Standardization: Create scalable processes and standard operating procedures to enhance quality, efficiency, and SLA adherence across risk workflows, aligning on global enforcement standards with Trust & Safety and policy teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
• Experience: Must be able to commit to a 12-week full-time work period during Summer 2026.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in SQL or other data analysis tools, with the ability to distill insights from complex datasets; strong stakeholder management and communication skills across diverse regions and disciplines; comfort working in ambiguous environments with shifting priorities.
• Bonus: Experience related to trust & safety, ad policy enforcement, fraud risk, or platform integrity.
