Revenue Controller | VAST Data

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at VAST Data, located in Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel. VAST Data is a fast-growing global company operating in the SaaS and technology sector. This position plays a critical role within the Finance team, supporting and executing global revenue accounting and reporting activities. The primary goal is to ensure accuracy, compliance with US GAAP, and operational efficiency across all revenue-related financial processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Global Revenue Close: Manage and execute comprehensive monthly global revenue close activities, rigorously ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition in strict accordance with US GAAP and ASC 606 standards.
• Analyze Financial Performance: Analyze detailed monthly revenue results, meticulously identifying trends, variances, and providing critical, meaningful financial insights to stakeholders.
• Perform Contract Assessments: Conduct thorough revenue recognition assessments for all customer contracts and complex commercial arrangements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
• Oversee Commissions: Calculate and continually monitor commission capitalization and amortization, maintaining accurate financial records related to sales compensation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Billing, Deal Desk, and FP&A, to ensure seamless alignment between commercial activities, billing cycles, and revenue recognition processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification required.
• Experience: Significant experience in revenue accounting, financial control, or audit, ideally within a global SaaS or technology environment, including experience with ERP systems and revenue automation tools.
• Skills: Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP (specifically ASC 606 and revenue recognition), advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, robust analytical skills with keen attention to detail, excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Bonus: Familiarity with SQL; direct experience with NetSuite ERP.
