Retirement Specialist in Training | Corebridge Financial

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Corebridge Financial, located in Houston, TX, operating under a hybrid working policy. Corebridge Financial partners with financial professionals and institutions to empower individuals to take action in their financial lives, today and tomorrow. This position is a structured training program designed to prepare individuals for a career as a Financial Advisor, serving community members in sectors like healthcare, education, and government. The role is critical for building a foundation in retirement planning and client support, setting candidates on a path to manage client relationships and a book of business.

The TL;DR

• Type: Full-time
• Location: Hybrid – Houston, TX
• Team: Upon successful completion of licensing, this role transitions to the Inbound Participant Support team.
• Mission: This person will acquire necessary financial licenses and build foundational knowledge to assist clients with retirement planning and transactions, aiming for a Financial Advisor role.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Licensing: Obtain FINRA SIE, Series 7 & 66, and State Variable Life & Health licenses within 120 days of start date.
• Client Education: Engage 401k / 403b participants to assist and educate them regarding current investment, insurance, and retirement planning strategies.
• Issue Resolution: Demonstrate ownership of client issues by assisting with account needs and following through on commitments.
• Service Excellence: Strengthen client loyalty and experience by anticipating needs and providing excellent service.
• Opportunity Identification: Consistently identify financial planning opportunities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of relevant industry or customer service experience.
• Experience: Ability to obtain FINRA SIE, Series 7 & 66, and State Variable Life & Health licenses within 120 days of start date.
• Skills: Excellent relationship building and communication skills, strong organizational and time-management skills, ability to create / develop systems and efficiencies to service client needs, and ability to work and collaborate successfully within a team environment.
• Bonus: Having SIE in advance is strongly preferred.
