Job Summary

As a Retail Team Member/Sales Associate at Journeys, your primary role is to create a fun and memorable shopping experience for every customer. You will contribute to basic store operations, aiming to achieve both personal and store sales goals while upholding our standards of performance.

Essential Job Functions

• Meet and exceed personal and store sales goals and performance standards.
• Accurately perform all Operation/Loss Prevention procedures in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain the overall appearance of the store and ensure stockroom organization.
• Effectively communicate all store needs, feedback, and concerns to store management.
• Stay informed and up-to-date on current fashion trends and product knowledge.
• Accurately complete all point-of-sale (POS) functions as required.
• Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities promptly and efficiently.
• Provide a fun, engaging, and full-service experience to every customer.
• Complete all required training modules and programs.
• Understand and embody the Journeys culture, demonstrating it to the team and customers.

Job Requirements

• Experience: Prior retail sales experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Multi-tasking: Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Drive to Succeed: A strong desire to succeed and thrive in a dynamic retail setting.
• Learning Agility: Willingness to learn new skills, products, and procedures.
• Availability: Ability to work night and weekend shifts as needed.
• Physical Demands:
  • Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Age: Must be at least 16 years of age (age requirements for part-time employment may vary based on state regulations).
