Job Description: Research Internship
Salesforce Research is seeking outstanding research interns with a strong background in Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning, or General Machine Learning. The internship offers the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research and work alongside experienced researchers and engineers.
Research Focus Areas: The internship may involve research in one or more of the following areas:
• AI Agents
• AI for Software Developers
• AI for Operations/Time Series
• Responsible & Trusted AI
• AI for Knowledge Management
• Mobile AI
• Multimodal AI
• Large Language/Action Modeling
• Human-AI Interaction
• Automatic Evaluation
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with a team of research scientists and engineers on a project with the potential for publication in a top-tier conference.
• Expand research knowledge and explore applications outside of existing expertise.
• Conduct pure research that aligns with PhD focus and contributes to the broader AI community.
• Present research findings at conferences alongside Salesforce researchers.
Requirements:
• Currently pursuing a PhD or MS in a relevant research area.
• Excellent understanding of deep learning techniques (CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, GRUs, GANs, attention models, and optimization methods).
• Experience with at least one deep learning library/platform (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Caffe, Chainer).
• Strong background in machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or reinforcement learning.
• Strong algorithmic problem-solving skills.
• Programming experience in Python, Java, C/C++, Lua, or a similar language.
• A minimum 12-week commitment.
• Publication record in top-tier conferences or journals (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, CVPR, CHI) is preferred.
