Job Description:
Research Internships at Microsoft Research New England’s Machine Learning and Statistics Group:
These internships offer a dynamic environment for aspiring research professionals to work alongside leading researchers, applied scientists, and engineers. Interns will contribute to advancing the state-of-the-art in machine learning and statistics.

Responsibilities: Research Interns will:
• Put inquiry and theory into practice.
• Collaborate with fellow doctoral candidates and world-class researchers.
• Learn and network within the research community.
• Contribute to exciting research and development.
• Work with a mentor.
• Collaborate with other interns and researchers.
• Present research findings.
• Participate in the vibrant research community.
Internship Details:
• Duration: 12 weeks.
• Availability: Year-round, with typical start times in the summer.
• Location: Interns are expected to be physically located at their manager’s Microsoft worksite location for the duration of the internship.
Qualifications:
• Required: Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science or a related STEM field. Submission of at least two reference letters, a cover letter, and relevant work/research samples is required.
• Preferred: Demonstrated ability to develop original research agendas; ability to collaborate effectively with other researchers and product development teams; proficient interpersonal skills and cross-cultural collaboration abilities.
Compensation:
The base pay range for this internship is USD $6,550 – $12,880 per month. A higher range applies to specific work locations in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area (USD $8,480 – $13,920 per month).
