Job Description:
Research Internships at Microsoft Research New England: These 12-week internships offer PhD candidates the chance to work alongside leading researchers, applied scientists, and engineers. Interns contribute to cutting-edge research and development, advancing the state-of-the-art in machine learning and statistics.
Projects: Internship projects encompass a wide range of applied and theoretical machine learning research topics, including (but not limited to):

Responsibilities: Research Interns are expected to:
• Put inquiry and theory into practice.
• Collaborate with fellow doctoral candidates and senior researchers.
• Learn and network with leading experts.
• Contribute to exciting research and development advancements.
• Work closely with a mentor.
• Collaborate with other interns and researchers.
• Present research findings.
• Contribute to the lab’s community.
Qualifications:
• Required: Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science or a related STEM field. Physical presence at the Microsoft worksite in New England for the internship duration is mandatory. Submission of at least two reference letters, a cover letter, and relevant work/research samples is required.
• Preferred: Demonstrated ability to develop original research agendas; effective collaboration with other researchers and product development teams; proficient interpersonal skills and cross-cultural collaboration abilities.
Compensation: The base pay range is USD $6,550 – $12,880 per month, with a higher range (USD $8,480 – $13,920 per month) applicable to specific locations within the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
