Job Description: Research Intern

Microsoft Research New England’s Machine Learning and Statistics group is seeking multiple Research Interns to work alongside leading researchers, applied scientists, and engineers. The internships offer a chance to contribute to cutting-edge research and development.

Responsibilities:

• Put research inquiry and theory into practice.
• Collaborate with fellow doctoral candidates and leading researchers.
• Contribute to exciting research and development projects.
• Work with a mentor and collaborate with other interns and researchers.
• Present research findings.
• Participate in the research community.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
• Physical presence at the manager’s Microsoft worksite location for the internship duration.
• Submission of a minimum of two reference letters, a cover letter, and relevant work/research samples.

Preferred:

• Demonstrated ability to develop original research agendas.
• Effective collaboration with other researchers and product development teams.
• Proficient interpersonal skills and cross-cultural collaboration abilities.

Compensation:

The base pay range is USD $6,550 – $12,880 per month, with a higher range (USD $8,480 – $13,920 per month) applicable to specific locations within the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area. Internship Duration: 12 weeks, available year-round, typically starting in the summer.
