Research Core Facilities and Centers Finance Analyst | University of Mississippi Medical Center

• Mission: Provides financial support for the academic and research missions, assisting in budget development and monitoring for accuracy, control, and compliance.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite, new Financial Planning/Reporting/Decision Support application

What You’ll Actually Do
• Budget Management: Support the implementation, presentation, and ongoing management of capital, operating, statistical, and personnel budgets for academic and research missions.
• Financial Forecasting: Prepare, examine, and analyze financial forecasts, including projected revenue and expenses for various units.
• Compliance Analysis: Analyze financial reports to ensure that revenue and expenses adhere to established budget standards.
• Stakeholder Interpretation: Assist leaders in academic and research units with understanding and interpreting complex financial data.
• System Implementation: Learn and assist in the implementation of a new Financial Planning, Reporting, and Decision Support application, including configuring it to meet organizational needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience: Three (3) years of work experience that includes accounting or finance.
• Skills: Knowledge of standard accounting principles, budget planning and monitoring, financial analysis, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in accounting, business, or healthcare administration strongly preferred.
