What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare Tax Returns: For Staff level, this involves the accurate and timely preparation of individual and various entity tax returns, playing a direct support role in tax planning activities.
• Review Complex Filings: For Senior roles, this includes reviewing complex tax returns prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy, compliance with current tax laws, and identifying advanced planning opportunities.
• Lead Client Engagements: As a Senior Accountant, take the lead on specific client engagements, effectively managing relationships and guiding clients through their tax processes.
• Drive Tax Strategy & Portfolio Management: Managers will own and oversee entire client portfolios, developing and implementing sophisticated tax strategies that align with client financial goals and firm objectives.
• Foster Team Growth: Managers are responsible for growing and developing the tax team, which includes mentoring junior staff members, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates for all Tax Accountant positions, from Staff to Manager, must possess recent public accounting tax experience. Specifically, Manager-level applicants are required to hold either a CPA or EA certification, demonstrating advanced qualification in the tax domain.
• Experience: A proven track record of working within a public accounting environment, with practical experience directly related to tax preparation, review, and client engagement management as outlined by the specific role level.
• Skills: Core competencies include proficiency in preparing individual and entity tax returns, conducting detailed tax return reviews, developing and implementing effective tax strategies, and managing client relationships with high-net-worth individuals and various business entities.
• Bonus: For Staff and Senior Tax Accountant positions, holding a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) certification is considered a strong advantage and is highly valued.
