Reliability & Mechanical Integrity Engineering Internship
The Program
Par Health offers an 11-week internship program designed to provide an immersive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. As a Par Health Intern, you will have the chance to contribute to meaningful projects that align with your field of study. This program allows you to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world manufacturing setting while building valuable connections through networking opportunities across the organization.
Summary of Position
This internship position will be a contributing member to the maintenance team, working within the reliability group under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager and Reliability Lead. The intern will perform essential engineering functions, including troubleshooting equipment with instrumentation and electrical technicians, leading failure analysis investigations, and updating preventative maintenance strategies. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to learn the responsibilities of a Production Plant Reliability and Mechanical Integrity Engineer, involving both field and desk work.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with root cause analysis of failed equipment such as pumps, hoists, and valves.
- Helping to review and update equipment preventative maintenance strategies, ranging from frequency to scope changes, consistent with manufacturer and industry recommendations.
- Working directly with the Instrumentation and Electrical Supervisor to create detailed work instructions for rebuilds and repairs of common equipment.
- Helping to perform preventative maintenance activities, ranging from calibration of level transmitters, cleaning IR detectors, and testing of high-level switches.
- Working closely with I&E technicians, utilities, and operations personnel to help keep the production areas running in a safe and reliable manner.
Minimum Requirements
Education / Experience / Skills:
- College student or recent graduate in electrical, mechanical, chemical, maintenance engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with industrial equipment like pumps, motors, valves, actuators, etc.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Relationship With Others / Scope Of Position
- Reports to the Maintenance Reliability Lead.
- Interacts with maintenance staff, maintenance technicians, maintenance planners, and plant process engineers.
