Premier Relationship Director, Damansara Heights Branch | HSBC

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at HSBC, located in Damansara Heights Branch, Malaysia. This Premier Relationship Director role is crucial for managing and growing relationships with the Bank’s highest value Premier clients, specifically those in the Top Tier Premier segment with typically over RM3 million in investible assets. It involves ensuring their complex financial needs are met with exceptional service, bespoke advice, and a deep understanding of their personal and professional goals.

• Mission: Acquire, develop, and retain relationships with HSBC’s highest value Premier clients by understanding their financial goals, challenging their perspectives, and delivering exceptional, personalized financial advice.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Portfolio Management: Acquire, develop, and retain relationships with a portfolio of Top Tier Premier clients, typically those with over RM3 million in investible assets.
• Client Relationship: Build trusting relationships with existing and potential clients, getting to know them on a personal and professional level to understand their short and long-term financial goals.
• Financial Advisory: Help clients articulate their needs, challenge their assumptions, and provide expert financial advice using deep understanding of their situation and external market knowledge.
• Strategic Review: Regularly review the Top Tier portfolio to identify opportunities to use the distinctive capabilities of HSBC, spanning lines of business and geography, to the client’s advantage.
• Client Loyalty: Increase client loyalty by meeting their needs either directly or through effective and proactive collaboration with other internal business partners.
• Compliance & Performance: Accountable for the performance of the portfolio, ensuring it is effectively run within the Wealth and Personal Banking Target Business Model and adheres to local and global compliance requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent experience, with a core domain focus on financial services.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years proven and progressive experience in financial services, and at least 3 years as a Relationship Manager.
• Skills:
* Expert knowledge in financial planning and wealth products, enabling comprehensive financial advice.
* Sound knowledge of the impact of macroeconomics, microeconomics, and local market developments on client portfolios.
* Expert knowledge of the external regulatory framework relevant to wealth management to ensure compliant operations.
* Strong client focus and ability to develop long-term partnerships with clients through effective communication, influencing, and sales skills.
* Clear view on how to work with Compliance, Credit & Risk, and Internal Control to ensure a balanced risk operating environment.
• Bonus:
* CFA or CFP qualification.
* Equivalent relationship management experience in managing high net worth client portfolios.
* Valid local regulatory licenses with accreditation on wealth management and qualifications as required by the country.
* In-depth understanding of HSBC Global House Views (if an internal candidate).
