Registered Nurse (RN) – 7NT Cardiology | Advocate Health

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Advocate Health, located in Winston-Salem, NC, specifically within the 7NT Cardiology department at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Advocate Health, as the third-largest nonprofit, integrated health system in the United States, provides care to nearly 6 million patients and is nationally recognized for its expertise, including in cardiology. As a Registered Nurse, you will be a vital member of this acute care setting, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based practice and compassionate delivery. This role is crucial for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, advocating for patient needs, and upholding professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes for patients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Improve Care: Engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to enhance care processes and apply evidence-based practices for continuous improvement.
• Utilize Nursing Process: Apply the nursing process comprehensively to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, actively engaging patients and their families throughout the continuum of care.
• Monitor and Adjust: Continuously monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans as needed, mobilize appropriate resources, and collaborate effectively with the care team to influence positive care outcomes.
• Uphold Safety: Champion and promote a strong culture of safety within the unit, consistently evaluating patient, team, and unit outcomes and taking decisive action as required.
• Administer Treatments: Safely administer medications, treatments, and therapies in strict adherence to established clinical protocols and procedures.
• Foster Collaboration: Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills, fostering strong team collaboration and ensuring appropriate delegation to other nursing personnel.
• Maintain Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to maintain comprehensive patient records.
• Pursue Development: Actively pursue professional development, complete all required education, and maintain necessary certifications to ensure continued competency.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program, with a foundational understanding of clinical nursing principles applicable to an acute care cardiology setting.
• Experience & Licensing: Requires at least 1 year of experience in clinical nursing. Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where nursing services are provided, alongside current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Skills: Possess strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, time management, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with proficiency in computer functions such as E-mail, electronic records, and digital platforms.
• Bonus: A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred.
