The TL;DR

• Pay: $41.78–$64.81 hourly
• Mission: To prepare a perioperative nurse to function safely and effectively in a variety of cases upon successful program completion.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Complete a six-month operating room orientation program designed for perioperative nursing.
• Acquire a wide range of essential skills and knowledge through classroom, laboratory, and patient care settings.
• Rotate through multiple specialties to gain diverse experience within the operating room.
• Function safely and effectively in various surgical cases following program completion.
• Maintain a 40-hour work schedule, including day and night shifts, call, and weekend/holiday obligations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate Nurse or newly licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan who has not yet practiced as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience: No prior RN practice required; must commit to working in the CVC-OR for two years post-internship.
• Skills: Ability to fulfill call commitment with a 30-minute response time; GNs must pass the NCLEX for Michigan RN licensure within 45 days of hire.
• Bonus: BSN; demonstrated satisfactory attendance record; ability to work with a non-responsive patient population; capability to handle stress, conflict, and resolution; demonstrated interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
