Regional Director | FirstService Residential

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at FirstService Residential, located in Tucson, AZ. This Regional Director position is pivotal in achieving that mission, by partnering with senior leadership to effectively lead, mentor, and guide community teams, ensuring properties are consistently maintained and operated to meet the specific objectives of each Board and community.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Team Leadership: Lead, develop, coach, and guide Community Managers, General Managers, and on-site support staff to foster long-term success and ensure exceptional service delivery and adherence to company standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with board members through regular communication, engagement, and by providing strategic input and guidance during Board meetings.
• Operational Oversight: Conduct regular property visits to assess performance, identify improvement opportunities, ensure compliance with policies, and manage communities on watch lists by implementing corrective action plans.
• Financial Acumen: Provide expert support and recommendations related to association financials, budgets, and forecasting, ensuring sound fiscal management for the communities.
• Communication & Resolution: Review and provide feedback on critical community communications such as board packets, meeting minutes, notices, and mailings, while professionally handling escalated homeowner or board concerns with effective problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Growth & Transitions: Partner with internal teams to recruit, onboard, train, and develop associates for long-term success, participate in developer transition meetings for new communities, and support business development efforts to attract and secure new management opportunities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a Director-level professional specializing in Homeowner Association property management, demonstrated by a minimum of 5 years of successful experience in the field. Candidates must possess prior leadership experience, specifically managing a team of 10 or more individuals.
• Education/Certifications: A current CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations) designation is a mandatory requirement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is also essential for this position.
• Key Skills: Candidates must possess exceptional interpersonal skills for building and maintaining strong professional relationships, coupled with a strong desire and ability to coach, mentor, and effectively develop team members. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with active listening and a talent for diffusing tense situations and resolving conflicts, are critical.
• Bonus: Additional industry certifications, beyond the CMCA, are highly preferred.
