Group Leader – Quality | General Motors

The Tone:
This is an onsite, full-time role at General Motors, located in USA(Michigan). What You’ll Actually Do
• Supervision: Supervise and mentor a team of UAW-represented Tradespeople, providing guidance and fostering a culture of high performance and problem-solving with safety as the overriding priority.
• Implementation: Implement and enforce General Motors Manufacturing System (GMS) principles and methodologies across all assigned manufacturing processes to ensure consistent safety and quality standards.
• Data Analysis: Lead the feedback of quality data, assist in identifying root causes of defects, and implement and track corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with Operations, Quality Engineering, Engineering Program Teams, Launch Managers, and other cross-functional teams to uncover and correct quality problems while producing quality vehicles.
• Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external quality standards and regulations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Proven experience in a manufacturing or quality role, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Skills: Strong understanding and practical application of General Motors Manufacturing System (GMS) principles; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach; ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
