Role Title: Quality Engineering Intern
Team: Quality Team
Overview: Archer is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineering Intern to join its Quality team. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in Product Quality. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in deploying processes that enable Archer to build safe, compliant products that are right the first time, on-time, every time.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
• Collaborate closely with the quality team to identify areas for process improvement, foster continuous improvement initiatives, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
• Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), internal audits, and help champion continuous improvement initiatives with various cross-functional stakeholders.
• Analyze existing Product Quality Assurance processes, including inspection plan methods and nonconformance handling, to identify opportunities for streamlining processes and improving efficiency without compromising quality.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, logistics, and manufacturing, to achieve production and certification goals.
• Interface with engineers, maintainers, technicians, and program management to accomplish objectives safely and efficiently.
• Engage in product-focused Continuous Improvement leveraging principles from Lean, Six Sigma, and Advanced Quality Planning concepts.
What You Need (Required Qualifications):
• Education: Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) at an accredited University, preferably a Junior going into your Senior year.
• Data Analysis Skills: Proficient in conducting data analysis using software like Microsoft Office suite, Power BI, and similar tools.
• Analytical Abilities: Possess solid analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Communication & Multitasking: Demonstrate effective communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal, coupled with adept multitasking skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Proactiveness: Proactive and capable of independently driving tasks to completion.
• Alignment: Aligned with Archer’s core values.
Bonus Qualifications:
• Quality Standards: Basic familiarity with Quality Standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing tools, equipment, and software.
• Lean Principles: Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 6S principles.
• Industry Experience: Familiarity with the aviation industry.
• Location: Located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Summer 2026 Internship Program Details:
• This is a 10-week full-time summer internship program opportunity.
• Program Dates:
• May 26, 2026 – July 31, 2026
• June 15, 2026 – August 21, 2026
• Note: The company cannot accommodate interns outside of these two program dates.
• Location: This role will be based at Archer’s headquarters in San Jose, CA.
• Relocation & Housing: Relocation and housing will not be provided.
Compensation:
• The target base pay for this position is between $25.00 – $35.00 per hour.
• Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
