The Tone:
This is a summer internship opportunity for 2025 at Howmet Engine Systems, designed for highly motivated and energetic students. Howmet Engine Systems is a leading producer of world-class aerospace engine components, specializing in investment castings, fasteners, rings, and forgings. The company leverages its profound expertise in advanced materials and processes such as vacuum melted superalloys, precision machining, performance coatings, and hot isostatic pressing to create high-performance parts. This Quality Engineering Intern role is integral to upholding the rigorous standards required for these critical components, contributing to the development of quieter, cleaner, and more fuel-efficient aerospace engines, and directly impacting the reliability and success of Howmet’s operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training & Development: Actively participate in structured hands-on training sessions and educational plant tours to understand manufacturing processes and quality standards for critical aerospace engine components.
• Professional Engagement: Attend various seminars, networking events, and speaker training sessions designed to build professional connections and enhance public speaking abilities.
• Project Execution: Conduct an impactful project in Quality Engineering, specifically selected to analyze and solve real-world business challenges and add direct value to Howmet’s operations.
• Reporting & Presentation: Develop and deliver a comprehensive presentation of project findings, methodologies, and outcomes to senior plant managers, supervisors, and assigned mentors at the program’s conclusion.
• Business Contribution: Apply learned skills and knowledge to enhance understanding of Howmet Engine Systems’ business, processes, and contribute to the company’s goals for producing high-performance aerospace parts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires candidates to be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution. Applicants must have completed a minimum of their sophomore-level coursework to be considered.
• Legal Authorization: Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and verification of employment eligibility will be required upon hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this specific internship position.
• Key Skills: Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential for clear reporting and collaboration within a technical environment. Excellent analytical skills are necessary for problem-solving and effective project execution. The ability to work effectively and adaptably in both self-directed and team-oriented environments is also crucial.
• Preferred Experience: While not strictly required, candidates who possess relevant prior internship, work, or research experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field will have a distinct advantage.
