Job Description: Summer Internship Program

MAPFRE Insurance is offering a 10-week summer internship opportunity for highly motivated college students who thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and enjoyable work environment. The program is designed for students ready to learn about the insurance industry and apply a strong work ethic to real business projects that impact the company. Interns will gain insights into departmental and corporate functions, network with other employees and interns, and participate in a Day of Caring community service project.

• Program Dates: June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026 (10 weeks).
• Work Schedule: Typically a 5-day workweek at 38.75 hours/week. Interns will determine weekly schedules with their department supervisor.

Job Description: Public Cloud and IT Infrastructure Security Specialist (Internship Position)

This internship is within the IT Infrastructure department.

• Title: Public Cloud and IT Infrastructure Security Specialist
• Job Description: This role focuses on proactively assessing and resolving security risks within MAPFRE’s Public Cloud and Data Center Infrastructure environments. The intern will perform vulnerability scanning on various systems including Networks, Linux/Windows, VmWare, and AWS environments, and then drive resolution efforts. Key responsibilities involve making recommendations for vulnerability resolutions, tracking remediation progress, and staying updated on the latest vulnerabilities and CVEs to recommend and implement solutions. The intern will also develop hands-on skills with security scanning tools and SIEM tools, coordinate with security SMEs for firewall port management, and implement security measures using Akamai solutions for public-facing URLs.
