Prospect Research Internship | World Wildlife Fund
The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at World Wildlife Fund, located in Washington, D.C., with a hybrid work schedule. World Wildlife Fund is a global conservation organization founded in 1961, dedicated to helping people and nature thrive across more than 100 countries. This role is crucial for the Development department, as it directly supports the identification and cultivation of donors, which is essential for funding WWF’s vital conservation efforts. The intern will contribute to research and data management that underpins strategic outreach and relationship-building with supporters.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Conduct in-depth research using publicly available sources, subscription databases, and internal tools to develop comprehensive donor profiles and prepare executive-level event briefings.
• Content Creation: Assist with composing, writing, editing, and proofreading materials specifically designed for the cultivation of current donors and prospective supporters.
• Data Management: Track information and manage digital records by accurately inputting, updating, and verifying data within internal systems, while handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Donor Identification: Support research staff in identifying, evaluating, and tracking prospective donors to advance strategic outreach and relationship-building efforts.
• Administrative Support: Provide essential administrative and project support across the team, managing special projects and time-sensitive assignments as needed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Graduate Degree program. Relevant fields of study include corporate sustainability, business administration, natural resources, supply chain management, environmental science, environmental policy, or sustainable development, though applicants from all academic areas are encouraged to apply.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is required beyond current enrollment in a degree program.
• Skills: Strong analytical and research abilities; high attention to detail and accuracy; clear and professional written and verbal communication skills; ability to stay organized and manage time effectively; ability to exercise discretion and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
