About Job Description: Propulsion Manufacturing Intern (Fall 2025)

This is an hourly internship role at Astranis, typically lasting twelve weeks, designed for students currently enrolled at a four-year university. Graduates are directed to apply for Associate Engineer positions.

• Many past interns have contributed significantly, designing and testing hardware/software destined for space on their first satellite.
• The internship program has a proven track record, with many past interns becoming full-time employees at Astranis.

Specific Role Responsibilities:
Design & Build the factory that builds satellites.
Deliver a physical propulsion subsystem, from tank to thruster, that is ready to operate in space.

Requirements:
Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in a CAD software (e.g., Solidworks, Creo, NX).
Personal Attributes & Interests:
• A passion for building things, including working effectively in a fast-paced environment and engaging in hands-on design and development.
• A strong interest in manufacturing, including a desire to learn “How It’s Made” and apply that knowledge.
• A compulsion to fix anything that’s broken, whether it’s equipment, an inefficient process, or communication issues between teams.
Flexibility on Requirements: Applicants are explicitly encouraged to apply even if they do not meet all listed criteria.

Bonus Qualifications (Highly Valued but Not Mandatory):
Experience building or testing liquid propulsion systems.
Experience writing work instructions, test procedures, or using MES/ERP software.
Experience welding, machining, or designing welded/machined components.

Compensation:
• The base hourly pay for this position is $29.00 USD.
